since i'm going to burn the dvd-rws with the photos, thought i'd ask if anyone else wanted a copy.
basically i'll burn mr heng's pics, msng's pics, my range of traffic light pics onto a dvdrw.
will cost about $2.50 i think, the price of the dvdrw.

1. hello you! thanks for being one of my best friends all this while - yes you. the one who dwells far, far away. the one who texted me 24/7 on my first few days of school in nanyang so i wouldnt feel lonely although international smsing costs a lot. the one who laughs and is hyper all the time, so much so that people treat you as their kai-xin-guo. and they (including me sometimes) forget that sometimes you need your cheering up too. thanks for the hugs and the chats and the opening up, the keeping and telling of secrets. you rawk. =D

2. i know i dont open up, and i know you do. and i really want to and wish that i could, but there's something stopping me somehow. you said you'd like to see the real me, and i guess i'd like to see the real me too, the one thats hidden beneath the general placid and calm-looking exterior. thanks for being there when i needed someone to talk to, for asking ' hey arent you meant to be at training' and making me stop in my tracks to tell you whats wrong instead of going home and keeping everything down inside as i usually do. i owe you a lot. the two times i've cried so far in ny, you've been there for me, somehow, and i wish i could be what you are to me, to you.

3. haha you. one of the people i've known for the longest. i dont think anything can let me forget the days when we were decked out in white, green and yellow. not that i want to forget them. and the time you saw me in the mrt, and we chatted on msn later, after about 5 years? - its fate. no not THAT kind of fate. as in, we're fated to be friends, at least, thats what i think. you're open about everything you hold, and im not, but i can talk to you. for some reason. and you've given me so much help - in everything. you really dont need to be this nice, and let people (like me) trample over you. and you dont need to be affected by what others think of you, they dont matter. really.

4. i know a lot of what i do seems superficial to you - guarded, fake, forced. like when i smile in reply of something you say, or when i say yes and you know i mean "no.... but whatever." there are times when i feel distant to you - but there are the times when i feel very close to you too. you're one of the only two people i've opened up the most to (though considerably not much), but of course you dont realise. and im too used to hiding a lot of what im feeling. we are very different - in taste, in ideas, in strengths, but underneath, believe it or not, i admire you. for your outspoken-ness, your ability to speak your opinion the way it is - not hidden beneath neutralised words the way i do. and, you're you.

5. you rock, girl. i remember the chat we had last year, about our faith. and this year i think we've both realised the direction we're going. thank you for talking too. when i was agonising over cca choices. and how to tell my parents. you're also one of the few people who understand what marks and academics mean to me - why i get upset when i barely pass instead of getting an A, the same way you would too if it happened to you. there are times when i treat you like a role model - in terms of faith, academia. yet most of the time when i do talk to you (online), you're like my blog. i can rant to you, and you can rant back, and nobody else would hear of what passed between us. thank you.

6. some/many people think we're close. but there are so many barriers between us. i havent told you anything about my past life, the way i think about some people, what i treat most importantly in my life. you havent told me much either. but it feels comfortable to hang out with you, its relaxing. and i feel for you when you're bounded by all kinds of restrictions. but you need to break them, nobody can for you. perhaps you dont realise it, or you do, but these restrictions are costing you your life. really. your daily routine revolves around so little, and something so awfully typical. you can change things - you have the personality to match your features. but it'll take you to show them.

7. im not close to you. no, change that, very few people in general are close to you. you amuse people with your antics, you amaze people with your grades. but you hide yourself more than i hide myself. dont you ever feel tired of holding everything up by yourself? i saw you cry, you hastened to hide it with a flurry of tissue and stomping out of the class to the toilets. i felt like comforting you somehow, to sit down beside you and do something but i couldn't. you hold that distance so tightly between yourself, and other people. a border that cannot be crossed. yet underneath, i believe there lies someone absolutely beautiful. and unique, and perfect in her own way.

8. you! you make me laugh. you make me talk. you make me rattle on and on. you're lovely, adorable, and most important to me - genuine. for you, its either the truth or its shutup.but you're deep too. you hide much of what you feel, you dont want to burden people with your feelings. dont you realise that you wont be burdening anyone, that everyone needs someone to talk to and confide in once in a while. you have a lot in your life, sometimes i feel - too much. that it makes you feel mediocre, because you dont have time for everything. but you're not mediocre. at all. you're one of the truest people i've met, and you're special and unforgettable. <3!

9. haha i dont know if you'll read this. there were times last year when i felt i could open up the easiest to you. then theres times when i feel completely distant to you, like how i can see you without having any response. and on thanks for talking. it was a small gesture, perhaps, just listening to me rant on, and later asking me if it was okay. you're very hard to read - but i dont think i want to read you. you're great to confide in, and you're nice and fun, but you hide a lot too. i dont know if you confide in the group of friends you have - but i dont think so. im praying you find someone you can really open up to. you always have that trapped-deer look in your eyes, but why? you have a lovely smile - if only you'd show it more.

10. i left you for last because i dont know what to say. no, maybe i have too much to say. i feel relaxed when im with you, but i cant really show the real me - for some reason, i feel like im expected to be someone else, from you. there are times when we hang out together for the entire day, then times when i dont talk to you - for an entire day, not even a greeting during flagraising. you're talented, which i dont think you realise. why compare yourself with others before you? and i have a lot to thank you for. at one point of time, you were my best friend. but you're like a cloud - you come along, you pass by, you stop for a while, then you move on, all along changing your shape.

i really hate it when people exercise authority in that manner.

i mean like teachers, saying you did well in a certain essay, & reading it out for the whole class. its okay if you're the kind who doesn't mind that, but unfortunately, i do.

i absolute detest teachers reading out things i wrote, making me read out the things i write, or sticking it up on some place for all to see ~~or photocopying it & including in the bunch of GOOD EXAM ESSAYS to pass around for some freaking reason i dont understand~~ . (not that it happens much. in fact, it's never happened @ all. except ONCE.)

not that i write about personal private things, i dont think anybody does. but e fact is when i write something meant for an assignment or an exam, i write it merely for that purpose. its only for the marker, to give a mark, then i take it back & either trash it or file it. if people want to see, they ask, & then i won't mind. as i said, they're not secrets or gossiping. but cant teachers have e courtesy to ask?!

no, obviously not. just because we're students too poor to copyright our writings does not give them any permission to take & act as if its theirs to photocopy & whatnot. & if a student does not want to read out her essay, JUST LET IT BE, GAWDDAMMIT. you do not OWN the students, nor do you OWN the essays, OR the rights of them, thus you have absolutely no permission to make people do things they dont want to.

just some random thoughts. unfortunately this is how things will go as time goes on, & any efforts to stop this is futile. dargh. why do i even bother. just offering my condolences to all those who feel the same.

on the other hand, i'm attempting to finish reading lord of the rings!! & its actually not bad, i like the ents greatly. they have such funky names. oh yeah talking about trees, this farm in limchukang called bollywood poison ivy is TEH ROCK. seriously. just loads & loads of wondrous plants, e owner is lurvely (she's called ivy, hence e name) & e place is so entirely unindustrialized it truly is wonderful. & the best part of the whole thing is, ivy lets weeds & wild grasses grow everywhere!! wootz!

yay i finally finished the whole saga of darren shan series!! took me eons finding the last two books until yesterday, when i was arranging & straightening the youth fiction section in the bukit batok com library (which, btw, is so tiny it takes up ONE shelf) i saw them, 11 & 12, was like AAAAAHHHH thats so dang kool.

well the endings pretty good, everyone died and darren travels through time to change stuff. rather kool, if you ask me.

which got me realising that i dont like to read anymore. @ all. i mean i read trashy books like darren shan's vampire stories, the occasional michael crichton for the thrills, dan brown kuz he ABSOLUTELY RAWKS, but i think thats it of actual novels i read. in fact the only books of decent thickness i read nowadays are christian ones, and i do that for research. gah, and i wonder why i suck @ english.

seriously though. i lose interest in books from the first page onwards. dargh.

oh yeah, i finally finished my essay on salvation!! kudos to me. & i got inspiration from rock-climbing last time, when i was thinking what would have happened to me if charissa/lynette hadnt been belaying. then i was thinking how i almost killed lynette/charissa while belaying for them. and then i got the idea of putting this gigantum analogy of Jesus being our belayer! i am so amused. it was such a far stretch of the imagination, really.

i heard the ridiculous SHE thing is starting to show today, kuz 王子变青蛙 finished yesterday? sigh. another taiwanese idol drama that i won't like.

& ppl outside are cutting grass.

erm, if you're a very strong atheist or is strongly against christianity,i wouldnt actually suggest you read this blog. might have some stuff you find insulting or something.

WOW so im pretty much in an absolutely wondrous mood.
i went to popular and guess what i saw, the book version of 紫禁之巅 AND 米伽乐之舞!! they cost like $16 and $20 each so i'll VERY slowly save up. ~~or someone could give it to me as a birthday present, of course.~~

well other than that, have a favour to ask of you people, if you happen to go to a christian book shop and see this book: the case for faith by lee strobel, please tell me where you found it so i can buy it! i borrowed it from jurong east regional library and it really really rocks the rock. so yep. tell me if you find it. but dont dont dont buy it for me kuz itll cost a bomb. not that anyone WILL buy it for me. but just in case!

so the book's great. & chanyi/claire if you see this it REALLY clears up the doubts we talked about on the road! like:

' if there is a God in this world, why is there so much pain & suffering? '
answer - if there is NO God in this world, how come there's so much more joy & comfort than pain & suffering in this world?

i liked that. & basically the book covers these topics:

1) since evil & suffering exist, a loving God cannot.
2) since miracles contradict science, they cannot be true.
3) evolution explains life, so God isn't needed.
4) God isnt worthy of worship if He kills innocent children.
5) its offensive to claim Jesus is the only way to God.
6) a loving God would never torture people in hell.
7) church history is littered w oppression & violence.
8) i still have doubts, so i can't be a christian.

dargh it rocks. the whole thing. like how it attacks all these sceptic's comments by giving SCIENTIFIC & INTELLECTUAL reasoning not just stuff like GOD IS SMARTER THAN US, HAVE FAITH IN HIM, KUZ THE BIBLE SAYS SO, DOOFUS.

like one of the arguments why evolution is bullshit.

things, have to evolve FROM something, right? if not it'll be called CREATION. so yes. [stupid darwin and his stupid theory. no offence or anything.] so basically this thing would have to come from the things present on earth @ that time. which means living things have to be somehow created out of non-living things.

this dude, miller, did an experiment on that. he 'recreated' the atmosphere of primitive earth, using methane, ammonia & hydrogen, then letting electricity [simulating effects of lightning] through it, thus creating amino acids which ARE living things. @ that time, it was major breakthrough to prove that living things CAN be created by chemical elements in our atmosphere. he was apparently almost given a nobel award.

however in 1980, NASA scientists showed that primitive earth never had any methane, ammonia or hydrogen. what it DID have, however, were inert & unreactive gases like carbon dioxide & nitrogen, as well as water. thus the theory was rubbish & evolution has no basis.

so ppl started having OTHER theories on how evolution started.

#1, random chance. which means the chemicals were mixed around for a LONG time to create protein. but four billion years is not enough for that to happen. & even if it did happen, if you took the entire universe's carbon and put it on the face of the earth, allowed it to chemically react @ the most rapid rate possible, left it for a billion years, odds of creating ONE functional protein molecule is one in 10 with 60 zeroes after it.

#2, that amino acids will spontaneously link up in e right sequence to create e protein molecules out of which living cells are made. this was proven wrong because sequencing has nothing to do with chemical preferences.

#3, seeding from space. if this is TRUE, then the scientists STILL havent solved the question, because the same thing would have happened elsewhere and they need to figure THAT out!

#4, oceans vents. oceans have warm waters to sustain life, but they are unable to sequence chemicals to make life. water does not happen to be particularly reactive in this case.

theres a lot more scientific stuff. isnt it kool like they use science to explain how God exists. & how other scientific theories are crap.

ahh well i'll stop talking now. the maid's cooking curry and it smells amazing.

fangirl entry today.

am watching the awards thingum on tv right now and am in an absolutely wonderful mood, kuz guess what FIR and ENERGY are there!! yep which is pretty dang kool. all they need to do is add LINKIN PARK and i'll start kowtowing in awe. anyway congratulations to nicholas zhang he absolutely deserves the best new act prize! i've only watched up to there. smiles.

today was entirely uneventful. went to the library and its all settled i'm gonna be 'servicing' there 2 times a week, 3 hours each time. which is like WOW. thought i'd do it to waste my time constructively. then went for guzheng. todays lesson was great, only 3 ppl so i actually got some decent coaching. and i'm starting to like the guzheng greatly! wootz. except it does kill the left hand skin.

so i conclude another one of my useless lj entries. anyways. since i'm bored, i'll do a commentary on the awards ceremony. which IS rather useless considering the straits time will do a much better of it tomorrow. so nevermind. shant waste my time.

i lurve troy.

am watching it for the 27th or so time.

so what if there's naked scenes (brad pitt has a horse's arse. i swear.) and a lot of ppl will say its a bimbo-ey thing to like troy I LIKE TROY SO THERE. it has awesome acting (like hector!! eric bana. woot.) and pretty pretty people (briseis, helen, archilles' mum) and idiotic, annoying arseholes (paris - orlando bloom). and the fighting scenes are even better than the chinese wuxia ones, plus the scenery is great and the soundtrack simply rawkz.

cant believe i dropped it just like zat.

uhuh have spent the time watching shallow taiwanese idol dramas, which are plotless and talentless. but I LIKE! yes. good stuff.
must bring pe tshirt and laundry pail tomorrow. for me that is. no idea what for.
and my stupid fourth toe on my right foot hurts like heck.
euphony garden is extremusly puhreetay. went there yesterday to play tennis w uncle roy and zhangmei BUT zhangmei had sport dancing?! and uncle roy had a sprained ankle. ended up playing against my dad and uncle roy. and losing drastically of course. i think the score ended up being something along the lines of 6-3, 6-1. heh. & my racquet is going to die i swear. i mean look @ other ppls racquets and they're all shiny and glossy. the frame of mine is all scratched and scarred. sigh.

its kinda annoying how schools gonna end ALREADY! sigh. i mean okay so its kinda boring and stuff just sitting around for seven or so hours, but still. tis better than sitting @ HOME for 24 hours. and i'll have absolutely nothing to do. arcading perhaps. i'll memorise all the prices in west mall, and try every thing in the food court or something.

STUPID FRIGGING TOE, I DON'T LIKE YOU. i got transparent band-aids from auntie belyn. heh. and she gave me like these antiseptics and antibiotics @ the same time. she's so kool, really. and she really really likes music. everytime i play on the guitar/guzheng/piano she listens engrossedly even when its just crap - which, is most of the time - and i get all selfconscious. did i spell that right? dargh who gives.

today, the getting back exam papers was complete shit.

why the **** did i cry? its so pathetic. stupid. like i think no i KNOW i have more control than that. and i cried for like what, a whole HOUR?! its so lame. i knew i'd regret it. i knew i'd get a freaking migraineish headache afterwards. yet, i still continued. its not like i was expecting to get 90+. i knew i'd fail. maybe not by 14 marks. but still. so i wasn't disappointed. WHY DID I FREAKIN CRY FOR NO FREAKIN REASON.once more, its so pathetic and so stupid.

i hate crying in front of other people. but i hate going into the toilets to cry too. its like hiding and shielding yourself, which i don't want to do. hmph. shall not talk about it. must say thanks to everybody who comforted me, woot. only for some awkward reason when there's ppl around me the tears just go WHOOSH.

i feel really stupid.

well afterwards it was a lot better though, home econs was fun fun fun. chopstix with michelle is infuriating. but i WON ANYWAY HAHAHAHA. okay nvm lol im fine. and i really don't like prettyboy. adding all these amusing things into the play. maths was boring, with the tryout teacher. hmph.... nothing else to say, really. i survived my first day of life with pink braces.

I AM SO FREAKIN PISSED @ MY DENTIST. you know, i'm considering murder. any one of those techniques suggested by eugenia in her blog a couple entries ago sound delightful.

PINK I TELL YOU PINK OF ALL THE COLOURS IN THE WORLD. i'm not a pink lover. and i do not feel comfortable with PINK ELASTICS ON MY TEETH they feel weird look weird are weird. and how is liza going to survive when we work on our home econs with all the PINK in sight? embarassment.

you know, i thought red was bad. pinks even worse.

i'm kinduf glad he got my dad pissed by attempting to overcharge $100 more. so now i'm going to ANOTHER DENTIST, who HOPEFULLY will have the decency to use TRANSPARENT ELASTICS like the shanghai dentist used to use. UNFORTUNATELY, that will only be ONE WHOLE FREAKIN MONTH FROM NOW. so i'll have to survive with PINK TINGED BRACES until the 14th of november, COUNT THAT, i think its 28 days. only consolation, i shall have sensible braces during the chalet. hopefully. if not i can attempt suicide.

ok, yes so i'm overreacting. but you see, not many of you have gone thru the trauma of pink braces. the agony, the pain, the torture, if you don't like pink. sigh. and no more eating frozen ritter sport for me. because if i do, the brackets will come off, and itll cost my dad another 20bucks or so more. hmph.

like, i mean i don't generally support crying for no reason, but i always get teary & soppy when watching movies or reading books! hmph. hypocrite HAHAHA ok nvm.

was watching 王子变青蛙, yay i love taiwanese idol dramas. i mean who cares if the storylines are complete crap and the cast is all pretty face, nice figure and no acting skill.
